Funding Options

We know that choosing speech pathology support is an important decision for families. We offer flexible funding and service options to help make high-quality care achievable and sustainable for your family. Whether you’re using NDIS funding, Medicare rebates, or private payment, we’ll work with you to make the most of your supports while focusing on meaningful outcomes for your child.

Medicare rebates

  • Medicare may provide a rebate for speech pathology services under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan (arranged by your GP for chronic conditions).

  • You can access up to 5 rebated allied health sessions per calendar year (shared across allied providers).

  • As of 1 July 2025, the Medicare rebate for each eligible allied health session is approximately $61.80.

  • You pay the full session fee upfront and then claim the rebate through Medicare (via your MyGov/Express Plus app).

  • A GP referral is required before your first appointment to be eligible for the rebate.

NDIS

  • The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with a permanent and significant disability to access supports that help them reach their goals.

  • Speech pathology may be funded when it is considered reasonable and necessary to support communication, swallowing, or participation in everyday activities.

  • Clients who are self-managed or plan-managed can usually access our services directly.

  • Funding is commonly drawn from the Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living budget.

  • NDIS funding can be used for assessments, therapy sessions, reports, and collaboration with families and other professionals.

  • We tailor our services to your NDIS goals and provide clear documentation to support progress and plan reviews.

Health funds

  • Private health funds may contribute to the cost of speech pathology services, depending on your level of extras cover.

  • Speech pathology is typically covered under allied health or therapy services.

  • Clients are required to pay the full session fee at the time of their appointment.

  • We do not offer HICAPS on site.

  • After payment, you can submit a claim directly to your health fund using the receipt we provide.

  • Rebate amounts, annual limits, and waiting periods vary between health funds, so we recommend checking your policy details with your insurer before starting services.

Self funded

  • Self-funded speech pathology services are available for clients who are not using rebates or funded supports.

  • We offer flexible options to make high-quality care accessible and sustainable for families.

  • For some therapy goals, sessions can be delivered by a trained Allied Health Assistant under the supervision of a qualified Speech Pathologist.

  • This model provides consistent, evidence-based therapy at a reduced cost while maintaining clinical oversight and quality of care.

  • Self-funded services can include assessments, therapy sessions, home or school programs, and collaboration with other professionals.

  • Services are tailored to your child’s goals, needs, and budget.
